Owlcrate-a-thon TBR

Hello bookish friends!

I plan on participating in Owlcrate-a-thon this year and I am so excited! I have a lot of Owlcrate books I haven’t yet had the chance to get to, so, this is a perfect opportunity!

This readathon will be running from February 9, 2019 through February 22, 2019. The challenges and what I will be reading are:

  1. Read the OwlCrate book you’ve owned the longest.
    1. Before She Ignites by Jodi Meadows. The only thing I know about this is that it involves dragons. I love dragons, so this should be a fun read!
  2. Read your shortest OwlCrate book.
    1. Catching Stars by Cayla Keenan. I know absolutely nothing about this, but I do remember that I did like the sound of it when I read the synopsis way back in May!
  3. Read three books.
    1. Wild Beauty by Anna-Marie McLemore. I’ve recently read her short story in “All Out” and loved it, so, I’m definitely looking forward to more of her writing!

If you’re participating in this readathon, let me know! I’d love to know what you’re reading!

January Journey!

Hey bookish friends! This is going to be a personal post with a bookish update.

I haven’t had a ton of time to read so far this month, much to my dismay. I’m currently in the process of moving in with my boyfriend. He has a house, I have an apartment, we spend all of our time together, so, a move makes sense! It’s been pretty stressful. We have basically moved everything we can. I live up a ton of stairs, so, it’s been a chore! We are having the movers come on Friday (we both got off work) to move the furniture! So hopefully after this weekend I’ll be able to spend more time reading!

However with all of that fun stuff, I did have some time to read last night! I started reading The Last Wish by Andrzej Sapkowski, the first book in the Witcher series. I read through the first chapter. I’m not sure how I’m feeling about it at the moment, but I was intrigued and wanted to finish reading the first chapter last night.

Last night I also started reading the first chapter in Assassin’s Blade by Sarah J. Maas which is the prequel novella for the Throne of Glass series. I tried to read this once before, but couldn’t get into it. Hopefully this time around is better.

How is your month going so far and what are you reading? I would love to know!

2019 Reading Goals

Hey bookish friends! I am very excited to start the new year! I decided to start a reading blog to be able to share my love of reading with others, discuss new and backlisted books, and to help myself read more and to be more of a critical reader.

With that being said, let’s get to the goals!

  1. I have my Goodreads goal set to 30 books. This isn’t a lot, but I don’t want to pressure myself.
  2. Read more of my physical TBR. I plan on using a TBR jar to pick out three books a month and will read one of those during the month. I am a huge mood reader, so, I figured one of the three I’ll probably be feeling!
  3. Curb my book buying! For every 5 books read off my physical TBR, I will allow myself to purchase one book.
  4. Read all of Brandon Sanderson’s Cosmere Universe books. I have started reading Elantris (his first published book) and am really enjoying it so far! His Cosmere Universe has so far 11 books in it, of which I already own five.
  5. Read all of the Harry Potter series. I have currently read all of the first four books and half of the fifth. I want to be able to complete the whole series, which is honestly a shame I have not done so already!
  6. Another series I want to get through is the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas especially since it has recently wrapped up!

Those are my main goals for this year, and I look forward to seeing how I do! I feel like the book buying one will be the most difficult as I do love frequenting my local Barnes and Noble.

What are your reading goals for this year?
